Crib Goch

Crib Goch

Painted using brushes, palette knives and fingers. I first did a 'Plein Air' painting on the ridge of Crib Goch at over 900m in the Snow. I then used this painting as reference for colour and light, and a photo for detail and composition to produce this larger painting. Lots of fun was had producing loose expressive marks on the mountains with a palette knife.

Oil on Canvas (122cm x 91cm)

I was approached by the ‘International Artist Magazine’ to write an article about my high altitude mountain painting adventures, and how this relates to producing larger works back at home in my studio, including a step-by-step painting demonstration of this Painting.
