An Idyllic Welsh coastal scene portraying different phases of  incoming waves. During the final stages of painting this commission i began to hear the gentle high-pitch fizz sound of the foreground wave and the deeper rumble of the background crashing wave. I wanted to incorporate this experience and idea into the title, but was struggling with how to word it (as usual) when my wife said casually - Why don't you call it 'Sound Waves' - Genius!
