Sharp Edge, Blencathra

Sharp Edge, Blencathra

Early morning Sunshine lighting up Sharp edge as we approached in glorious winter conditions. We were blessed with Fine weather on our ascent of Sharp edge which included a spicy variation on the headwall below the summit. I felt a square canvas was the ideal format to complement the angled slopes and ridges in this piece. The colours and tonal values of the Snow in shadow were a real joy to paint.
