The Space between the Clouds - looking over the Snowdon Horseshoe

The Space between the Clouds - looking over the Snowdon Horseshoe

This painting was inspired by a memorable winter walk in North Wales. Conditions were perfect with clear skies, cloud inversions, crunchy snow and a thin layer of wispy cloud high up in the atmosphere. I can clearly remember walking into the scene which i have painted, and the first thing that struck me, and forced me to sit down, was the intensity of colours in the scenery. My eyes then began to slowly drift across the sea of cloud below me, and i became totally mesmerized by the beauty of the space between the clouds.
