Daisy

Daisy

A portrait of my 12 month old daughter Daisy Florence Johnson. The most challenging aspect of this portrait was to reproduce the soft unblemished skin of a toddlers face. Any visible brushmarks made daisy appear older, so most of the blending of her skin was done using my fingers. She has very bright shining eyes and a cheeky character which i have managed to sneak into her smile. The funky looking Peruvian hat and sheepskin snooze pillow provided me with some interesting challenges in texture. If you look closely, you may be able to find her name painted somewhere in the portrait.

Oil on canvas (40 x 50cm)
