I wanted to portray the unique visual character of silver birch trees, which are also the toughest survivors in harsh arctic environments, with powerful healing properties. To recreate the full intensity and variety of colour and texture as autumn crept in, i applied oil paints with Brushes, sponges, palette knives and fingers!
